This course explores the unique experiences of adolescent victims and perpetrators of domestic violence and sexual abuse. It covers current research, policy and practice pertinent to a wide range of public and third sector services. Examination of risk and safety, coping strategies and parenting will be central. We will consider how the intersections of race, class, gender, sexual orientation and disability exacerbate abuse. This is a highly interactive course aimed at encouraging coordinated community interventions.
Mountain Healthcare and Slater and Gordon Solicitors are proud to sponsor a not for profit National Conference addressing Sexual Violence and The Military. The aim of the conference is to share research and foster national discussion around how civilian services such as SARC’s and other sexual violence services can support victims of sexual violence in a military setting, and discuss how to improve links into the military, including promotion of self-referrals.
The conference is aimed at those working within a sexual violence setting, including ISVA’s and Crisis Workers. There is also a programme of relevant workshops for Custody Healthcare professionals including Management of PTSD in a custodial setting. We are pleased to offer a varied and strong agenda with speakers from the forensic medical, legal and military communities.
